A Note to Apple
Apple spends a lot of time re-inventing and re-reinventing the wheel with every OS. It’s a means to generate excitement and get folks to upgrade. The problem is, over time, there’s only so much that can really change (buttons are rounded, then square, then rounded again; transparency, etc.) What I really need is a way to control my parents Apple TV without having to drive to their house. Or for Siri to finally undertand whether it’s going to rain in the next hour not just the next 24. Or, for me to be able to pare down my friend’s iPhone, because she’s 90 and doesn’t need 2,000 features, she just needs a phone that works. There are so many possible solutions to real-world problems that need solving. What I don’t need is an AI agent that is going to clean up my sentence structure in an e-mail to my friend. Priorities.
